Unlike in recent editions of our annual report, the table showing the regional funding rate covers a shorter period of three years. The result, however, is comparable. It shows the number of applications and the number of approved projects per federal state.
Taking the Saarland as an example, it is very clear that, although only 20 applications were received, 25 % of these – five in total – were actually funded. The best funding rate in relation to the number of applications submitted by a federal state is therefore in Schleswig-Holstein, where around 33 % of the applications submitted were selected for funding. Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania ranks third with around 24 %. As expected, the federal states with the highest number of applications are North Rhine-Westphalia, as the most populous state and Berlin, but also Saxony and Baden-Württemberg in particular.
