"With the PARKOUR IN PANKOW initiative, we are trying to build a bridge between local organizations and communities by working with art as an elastic form of language."

The Parkour in Pankow project collected stories from residents of the Berlin district of Pankow and formed a diverse picture of local everyday life. The participants described their relationship to the urban space and mapped topics such as migration, memory, loss, multilingualism and feminism on a city map. This served as a basis for thinking about the future of the city and formulating common wishes and demands.

The project was developed with artists from different disciplines and two groups of participants: a mixed group of pensioners, young people and people with migration experience and a group of coordinators of local initiatives. Activities included interviews, intergenerational conversations, audio plays, workshops in a refugee shelter and mapping workshops.
