- As part of its efforts to promote young talent, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media is making a one-time special fund of €300,000 available for U25 in 2026.
- Instead of the regular 80 percent, funding of 90 percent of the total budget is possible under the 2026 special call for proposals.
- An additional €1,000 for organizations that legally represent the U25-project manager and take on a mentoring role.
What U25 is
U25 – Young Culture Initiatives is the Fonds Soziokultur’s programme for young talent, designed to support new perspectives. The programme funds socio-cultural projects led by people aged between 18 and 25. It aims to help them take the first steps in cultural work. No prior experience is required to receive funding. We know that the application process can seem overwhelming at first. That’s why we’re happy to help. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
What we fund
Who we fund
The applicant is the person with whom Fonds Soziokultur handles the formalities (funding agreement, requests for funds, proof of use). The project manager is responsible for planning and implementing the project, and keeps track of the cost and financing plan.
Project budget
A maximum of EUR 4,000 can be applied for as part of the U25 funding, but not more than 80 percent of the total project budget. Due to the special funding for U25, a one-off 90-percent funding is possible this year. The total project budget cannot exceed EUR 8,000. Projects with a higher cost volume must be applied for in the general project funding programme.
If you’re unsure whether your planned project activities are eligible for funding or what the cost plan should look like, we’d be happy to help. Just send us an email or give us a quick call. Contact
How do you apply?
The funding application is submitted digitally via the application portal. You must register there the first time you use it. You can then fill out the application form, save it temporarily, edit it later and submit it once it is complete. The application portal usually opens twice a year, from April 2 to May 2 and from October 2 to November 2. We recommend that you do not wait until just before the deadline to submit your application. This will allow us to assist you should any questions arise. Applications received after midnight cannot be considered.
